Research Description

Mixed convection is a heat transfer mechanism in which the combined effects of forced convection and natural convection, of comparable magnitude occur. The contribution from each of them to the heat transfer is determined by the temperature, material and flow properties of the fluid, geometry under consideration etc. In my case I would be investigating mixed convection in a domain filled with porous media.

The aim of the project is to understand the influence of the size of particles forming the porous media, the influence of nature of fluid undergoing mixed convection etc..on the heat transfer and flow characterisitcs.
